Women play a crucial role in the COST Action IMMUNO-model by holding leadership positions as well as participating in this network. Their contribution to the Action’s main objectives is central in fostering research and innovation in the field of preclinical immuno-oncology models.

On February 11th, we celebrate the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. This day is a reminder that women and girls play a crucial role in science and technology and that their participation should be encouraged and strengthened. Although Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fields are widely regarded as critical to national economies, so far most countries, no matter their level of development, have not achieved gender equality in STEM (International Day of Women and Girls in Science | United Nations).

On this occasion, IMMUNO-model celebrates women in science and acknowledges their continuous outstanding contribution by presenting some of the IMMUNO-model female scientists working in the field of immuno-oncology across the world.
